Jump-a-tron Bird
I was still 69 and 50,000 XP from 70 when I happened to be passing the Jump-a-tron place and the bird was there. It seemed bugged because it looked like it was fighting but there were no players there. I stopped and looked but decided I probably wouldn't get credit if I attacked it, no point messing with buggy monsters. I started off and got a whisper and a group invite. I jumped at it. My partner mentioned having low durability but when I suggested he nip into town to fix it he replied with a "?". I tried not to let this bother me and set about business. I used the trick of using the jump-a-tron to get a slow fall buff and then jumping off the hill on my mount to get to the nest with the eggs. I picked an egg and the bird appeared and the other guy, who was a druid turned in a boomkin and rooted the bird. I started blasting and just spammed steady and arcane shots, it wasn't very clinical I just wanted the thing dead. I got agro once so just feigned death and carried on. I didn't pay enough attention to Mend Pet and Tiddles died but wasn't bothered. We killed it and I got a nice blue cape for my efforts. A successful pug!!! WTF? I knew Mae had the firepower but she needed a better tank than Tiddles.
Big Ding
I travelled to Shadowmoon Valley to grind the last 6000 XP and be ready to buy the flying mount. On the very last kill there was another player trying to fight the monster, I don't know if he was trying to help or kill steal or what but he was there when it died and I dinged. He congratulated me. Nice to have a witness.
Went for the Snowy flying mount.

It's a girly mount to suit a level 70 female dwarf hunter.
Flying mount is very nice: not particularly fast but because you can travel as the crow flies (literally) it ends up being faster than the flight point scenic routes or a land mount having to avoid things all the time. A long flight is probably very boring, set it on autopilot and chill out.
Still levelling up bow skill so Valanos's Longbow has yet to come into it's own. Grinding Bog Lords in Zangarmarsh and doing some herb skinning while levelling it up. Looking forward to seeing what it is capable of. Do I splash out on an expensive scope for five or six more dps?
Bought some level 70 blue bracers in the AH. Not cheap, about 80g but I thought 'well, it's not like I'm going to be upgrading them soon'. Gear I buy now is going to last a long time.
It's nice being 70. /played was 14.5 days so it took 348 hours of play. It does include a couple of hours total AFK making breakfast/coffee and some rep grinding diversions. I did use levelling guides for the first 50 levels which helped in avoiding a lot of messing about. In a way I feel I cheated in finishing off by grinding level 66's in Nagrand and not tackling tougher areas. Still, of those 348 hours I probably spent less than eight in a group.
I'm not sure what the future holds. Possibilities:
- grind cash for Epic Flying Skill
- grind Skyguard rep for a Nether Ray (Nether Drake requires grouping and is not an option)
- get Mae all in blue, she still has a number of greens. Try to do this by soloing elites.
- get pooky to 70
- do something with Maezyn
- start another alt but there's no way I'd put as much into an alt as I have into Maevyn.
I'll dabble with Maevyn for a while longer, see how motivated I am by any of the above.

Congrats on 70.
WRT leveling bow (or any ranged weapon). Be sure to check out Dr. Boom in Netherstorm. If you stay at range and avoid the adds you can shoot him forever. AND he has a ton of hitpoints.
Hunters have autoshot.. so as long as you find a good perch you can quickly go from skill 1 to skill 375.
WRT scope How can you not?
If possible, and I know you hate to pug, you might pug up to complete the pre-Ogri'la quests so you can start on those dailies. That's an easy 40g everyday.
Be sure to visit Blackwing Landing (slightly north from Allerian Stronghold) and pick up the bombing quests there. That's another easy daily.
