Redefining the Impossible

WoW Haitus Daily News Issue 1

  • Third day without logging on. I do miss the game. At first I tried looking at forums and just the letters WTB annoyed me with their overfamiliarity and I had to stop.
  • I looked at the new Lord of the Rings game. It sounds like a WoW clone. I found the books pretty boring and the films were great cinematography but the plot left me cold. WoW doesn't try to have a plot. If I play LotR I am back to square one with no gold. I don't want to pull the plug on WoW and I don't want to pay two subscriptions. Then again LotR is a new game, WoW is well trodden ground, everyone is an expert, everyone else is a noob.
  • Still can't face paladin
  • I've read my WoW books, looking at the different classes. Is it alt time?
    • Priest: shadow for levelling then no problem getting in raids if you respec holy
    • Rogue: great DPS, kill things quickly, stealth, lockpicking, pickpocketing, already have a level 10 rogue.
    • Hunter: best solo PvE class if you don't mind being one of the throng or having everyone suspect you of being a bot.
    • Druid: good hybrid class but have to be a night elf and start off in fairyland (then again, you can do forward somersaults).
  • Tempted to play as female dwarf just to be different. Only ever see female dwarfs selling wow gold. However, dwarf restricts you to paladin, warrior, hunter, priest, rogue and you have to ride a sheep.
  • Whatever I choose would have to be able to kill quick. Fed up with pally attrition.
  • Whatever alt I picked I would probably use a levelling guide to level it up quick.
  • Would be twinked as much as possible from existing funds. Epics aplenty.
  • If I do log in as paladin it will be to check mail, do blacksmithing for alt's, administration etc.

I've heard that Warlock and Hunter are the two fastest to level. I love playing my hunter.. all that range is addictive. I've started playing a warlock alt.. I miss my bubbles.. and my heals.. but it's nice to be still able to use a sword.. and the minions are amusing. I think in a couple more levels my warlock will get heals.. and bubbles.. worth considering.

Don't forget the horde. They're not necessarily the bad guys.. they're the political opposition. It's a nice opportunity to experience quest lines you've never seen before.

Tauren Druid is a nice alternative to NE Druid.

Blood Elves are darn sexy. I'm just saying, if you've got to stare at the back end of something for a while at least let it be a sexy backend.

That said, I have alt-oholism. Tatia 47 Draenei Paladin Tikataka 26 Human Rogue Tikah 21 Night Elf Hunter Obliette 17 Night Elf Druid Monneh 16 Draenei Priest Ette 9 Gnome Warlock

Bored with it? Hmm... well i've tried both Lineage 2 and EVE Online.. and i always come back to WoW. Maybe it's just that i have made such a good group of friends, that help out with quests and levelling it's just fun.

But i did start levelling a Dranei Shaman a few months ago, got her to lvl 51 already, they are pretty fun, much different to playing any other class plus i get to give her gold from my lvl 70 mage.

True about that BOT thing for hunters as well, my friend was playing her 70 hunter ( she has a 70 priest too ) and everyone thought she was a hunter because she was between guilds at that time.

Me being the biased mage i am would recommend a mage for your next alt. :P Super DPS, can almost always get a group, so easy to solo at lvl 50+, portals to all the cities.

Also, you really should finish levelling your pally, they are one of the most desired classes for any raid or group, especially Karazhan and Black Morass where their bubble(kara) and consecrate(BM) is the difference between a wipe and a win, plus alot of groups like having that extra healing even if you aren't holy specced.

Oh, and the experience of a flying mount is not to be underestimated, especially since you have a gathering profession, mining and herbing become HEAPS easier. Just fly over the top of mobs, drop down, mine and back up before they even know you are there.

Not sure why but I'm not keen on the Warlock. You don't have to feed the minions but you can't give them silly names either.

I'd rather stick with alliance, mainly because I like Ironforge, I dislike all the other cities and while I haven't visited any horde cities I suspect they have awful street plans as well.

Hum, reading again these seem like feeble arguments. I can't think of a better argument against Warlocks but I cannot identify with any of the horde races and I would rather try to keep to familiar lands to level up a bit faster.

What I've read of shamen is that their talent trees are even more messed up than a paladins but many classes moan about their talent trees.

I have tried mage but only to level 8 or so a few months back when my realm was down. I haven't visited him since. Problem with mages is that there are two high level mages in my guild and if I went mage it would be a bit 'me too'. Agree about all the perks: portals, blink, feather fall, extreme dps, AoE grinding. Sounds like a prime nerfing candidate.

The flying mount is certainly a goal of mine, I wouldn't want to give up WoW until I at least had a level 70 on a standard flying mount.
